Parenting & Family Research Center

About the PFRC

The Parenting & Family Research Center ultimately aims to increase our understanding of children, adolescents, and parents in the contexts of family, school, and community, and to draw on scientific evidence to inform public policy on issues affecting children, such as the prevention of child abuse and the promotion of success in school.

The Center is made up of a dedicated group that includes scientists at USC and around the world, staff and students (undergraduate and doctoral). External funding for the Center’s research comes from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences, the Institute of Education Sciences, the National Science Foundation, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
